The Visana health insurance company with headquarters in Bern was founded in 1996. With over 846,000 private customers, 16,000 corporate customers and a turnover of CHF 3.3 billion, Visana is one of the largest health and accident insurers in Switzerland.
The Visana Group comprises eight companies: Compulsory health insurance (basic insurance) is operated by Visana AG, sana24 AG, vivacare AG and Galenos AG. Visana Versicherungen AG is responsible for supplementary insurance, accident insurance, legal protection and household insurance.
